Meet the chef...

  

Chef Danielle received her formal training from San Diego Culinary Institute in 2009. Her family's southern background and growing up in the multicultural neighborhood of Torrance California has had a huge influence shaping Danielle's food prospective. 

She enjoys using culturally diverse, gourmet, high quality ingredients, seasonal organic produce, and locally sourced foods. 

Artfully pairing traditional cooking techniques with modern culinary trends to create what she likes to call "elevated comfort food". 

Her mission is to bring all the joy food has to offer by reviving nostalgia, beauty, fun, comfort, pleasure and healing through the experience of food.

 Having a passion for health and healing through food, Chef Danielle has 8 years of experience servicing families, and individuals with dietary restrictions, health and fitness goals. 

Specializing in healthy alternatives, low carb, high protein, gluten free, dairy free, vegan, vegetarian, paleo, keto and diets with allergy restrictions, she can help you put a nutritious, delicious meal on the table!

 What flavors are available ?! Honestly the possibilities are endless. Anything from traditional to the latest avant-garde flavors. Your favorite colors, fruit, chocolate, liquor, wine or even beer. Dare to think outside the cake box !

Recipe Demos and Community Outreach

For the past 6 years Chef Danielle has help host and create recipes for educational community outreach events promoting healthy eating to children and families in low income communities alongside non profit organizations  First 5 San Diego and the Y.M.C.A.    

 First 5 Five San Diego events featured Chef Danielle's  healthy recipe demos broadcasted live on radio stations Magic 92.5's Xavier the X-Man and 93.3's Geena the Latina.

Chef Daniells has also hosted cooking classes and catered fundraising events for the La Jolla Tennis Club.

  The most common question is "how much will this cost?" 

A good place to start is by answering the questions in this section.

Catering on average ranges from $30.00-$120.00 per person. Plus, tax, tip, service and 15%-25% gratuity.

 If you have a set budget it's important to notify your caterer at the beginning stages of so they can be mindful while menu planning.

Food

  What types of food would you like to serve your guest?

The first thing to do when trying to decide on the menu is gauge your crowd. Are your guest foodies, meat and potato lovers or health conscious? Would you like to serve heavy appetizers or a course meal? Is there a type of cuisine you prefer or theme?

  

 

 

 


Food Allergies, Restrictions and Special Diets.

   Do you or any of your guest have dietary restrictions or allergies? Is someone in the group a vegetarian? This is a very important detail and will play a huge roll in menu creation, food handling and recipe adjustments. Please make sure this is one of the first things mentioned during planning.

Location

Where will you be holding your event? From halls, to AirBnB's every location offers a different set of service amenities. Providing your Caterer with these details will help provide what is needed to create a successful food service experience.

 If you are unfamiliar with your event site it helps to inform your caterer upon arrival of what appliances, pots, pans and service ware are available.  In most cases event site management/ AirBnB hosts are happy to provide you with such details before you arrive. 



Service

 Is this a formal or casual event? Would you like your meal to be fully plated for sit down service? Other styles of service include buffet, tray passed/cocktail or a catered delivery.

 Do you need rentals such as plates, wine glasses, silverware, chafing dishes, linens, or tables?   

 Knowing your needs and expectations will help your caterer give you a better idea of time, staffing and costs involved to accommodate your service needs.

Guest Count

   Most caterers will charge per guest or provide serving size appropriate platters of food.

You can start with a guest count estimate. As your event date gets closer the final number of guests can be given.

Your caterer may have a cut off date to give a final guest count which could range anywhere from a few weeks to a few days prior to your event.

Guest count accuracy insures that your cater is able to provide the appropriate amount of food needed for each guest .
